How Andrea works

Andrea Schiralli speaking at an educational consulting conference
Keynote at an educational consulting conference in China.

Admissions officers read thousands of essays written to impress them. They remember the ones written by a person.

So Andrea starts with the student, not the prompt. A conversation about what they care about turns into a shortlist of topics that are theirs. Then an outline, a first draft written by the student, margin comments that say exactly what to change and why, and a final edit for language and polish. Repeat for every school on the list.

She taught high-school English in New York City before this, and it shows. Feedback is specific, deadlines are real, and she will tell a student when a draft is not there yet. Students write their own essays. Andrea makes sure they are good.

  1. BrainstormOne conversation. Out of it, three or four topics that could only be this student's.
  2. Outline and draftA structure first, then a real first draft. The student writes it. Andrea is on call while they do.
  3. CommentMargin notes on content, structure and reflection. What works, what is missing, what to cut, and why.
  4. Edit and finalizeLine edits for language and grammar, a last read for word count, and it is ready to submit.

72 hours. Comments and edits come back within three days, usually sooner.

Parents in the loop. You will know what is due, what is done, and whether a draft is good yet.

No AI. Andrea does not use it on student work, and she can usually tell when a student has. So can admissions officers.

One story. The résumé, the activities list and every essay are edited together so the application reads as one person.

  • Andrea was incredible. She helped me tremendously throughout my entire transfer application process, from strategizing my school list to refining my personal essay until it really captured my voice. Her guidance made a stressful process feel manageable, and I genuinely don't think I would have gotten the results I did without her support. My younger brother, who's now starting his own college application process, will be working with her too.

  • My son is now a rising senior at Duke University and he is thriving there. After working closely with Andrea on essay preparation, application completion and interviewing skills, he had a seamless transition into the university of his dreams. Top universities such as Duke take less than 5% of applicants. With Andrea's help, our son became part of that percentile.

  • Andrea was extremely helpful with suggesting topics to write about, proofreading all of my essays and guiding me on polishing them until they were perfect. She was very friendly and patient, and gave good feedback for every draft. With her help I got into multiple top colleges, including Carnegie Mellon and the UCs.

  • Andrea is one of the strongest educators and advisors I have worked with. She brings a rare combination of sharp writing judgment, deep educational insight, and genuine care for students. Her support goes far beyond correcting essays. The students we have supported have achieved outstanding admissions results, including acceptances to top 20 universities.

  • From the very beginning, they took the time to really understand my background, goals, and what made my story unique. I never felt like they were trying to change my voice, just strengthen it. They also gave very honest feedback, which I appreciated a lot. If something wasn't working, they would tell me clearly and then help me fix it.
